Objective & Context
As the Lead Designer, I guided the end-to-end redesign of ViewSonic’s global website to modernize its digital presence, enhance scalability, and create a unified experience across all regions.
The initiative focused on replatforming the site to Magento, implementing a CMS-driven, templatized framework, and introducing a modern, responsive design system that aligns with ViewSonic’s premium brand identity and e-commerce goals.
The objective was to build a flexible, performance-driven platform that empowered both customers and internal teams—streamlining product discovery, global marketing campaigns, and content management.
Design challenges
Scalable Framework
The previous site architecture made it difficult to maintain design consistency and roll out updates globally. The challenge was to design a modular, component-based system that could scale with the brand and allow teams to create pages through the CMS without developer dependency.
Modernization
ViewSonic’s online presence hadn’t kept pace with its innovative product lineup. The redesign needed to reflect a tech-forward and professional aesthetic, delivering a visual identity that resonated with both consumer and enterprise audiences.
Content Flexibility
Marketing teams required a more agile workflow for launching campaigns. The solution centered on CMS-integrated templates and components, giving authors autonomy while preserving the design system’s integrity.
Performance & Accessibility
Legacy templates caused slow load times and accessibility gaps. Improving Core Web Vitals, mobile performance, and WCAG 2.1 AA compliance was crucial to delivering a fast and inclusive experience for all users.
My approach
Discovery & Research
Partnered with marketing, engineering, and product teams to audit the current site, define user needs, and align on business goals. Competitive analysis informed benchmarks for design quality, navigation patterns, and performance standards.
Design System
Developed a unified design system in Figma, introducing reusable components, grid structures, and color tokens. The system supported multiple regions and enabled consistency across campaigns and product launches.
Experience Architecture
Redefined the information hierarchy, streamlined global navigation, and improved the content taxonomy to make product discovery intuitive across categories, solutions, and industries.
Collaboration & Integration
Worked closely with engineers to ensure seamless translation of the design system into Magento’s front-end architecture. Partnered with CMS developers to define component behavior and authoring guidelines for non-technical users.
